What is the Alpha Course?

The Alpha Course consists of nine weekly evening sessions exploring the Christian faith.
Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
This course has been described as “an opportunity to explore the meaning of life”.

The Alpha Course

We will be running the next Alpha Course at New Life Church  in Spring 2022. We invite you to join us in exploring life's big questions. We start an Alpha evening with a supper that can be purchased on the night from our coffee shop in the foyer.

After supper, a 25 to 30 minute Alpha Film Series episode on a specific topic, will be watched on large screens. The sessions explore the big topics around faith and the basics of Christianity. The topics include "Who is Jesus?", "How can we have faith?", "Why and how do I pray?" and "How does God guide us?".

Small Groups

Discussion time presents an opportunity to chat about your thoughts and ideas on the evening's topic with about 12 people in each discussion group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously!). This is an opportunity to hear from others and add your own perspectives in an honest, respectful and open environment.
To date it is estimated that over 30 million people worldwide have done the Alpha Course.
The Alpha resources are printed in over 112 languages and the course is run in over 170 countries.
