What is the Alpha Course?

The Alpha Course consists of ten weekly evening sessions exploring the Christian faith.
Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
This course is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.

The Alpha evenings consist of three main components:

The first night of Alpha is an introductory evening where a complimentary meal will be served at 7pm in the foyer. At every Alpha evening thereafter, we will serve a delicious warm meal from our Life Café from R35 pp. Supper is optional but encouraged as it is an integral part of an Alpha evening where you get to relax, enjoy good food and good company!

These are presented by way of the Alpha Film Series DVDs which are about 25 minutes long. The sessions explore the big questions around faith and the basics of Christianity. The questions include “Who is Jesus?”, “How can we have faith?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”.

Small Group Discussion

Small group discussion time presents an opportunity to chat about thoughts and ideas on the specific evening’s topic. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously!). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and add your own perspectives in an honest, respectful and open environment.
To date it is estimated that over 30 million people worldwide have done the Alpha Course.
The Alpha resources are printed in over 112 languages and the course is run in over 170 countries.
